After your surgery

Your journey
  • Before your surgery
  • Your surgery
  • Anaestesia
  • After your surgery
  • Your Aftercare

We maintain the same level of contact with you in the postoperative period.

After your procedure is finished in the operating room, this will happen: you will stay for 2 - 6 hours in the recovery room under close monitoring. To avoid any adverse effects (nausea, vomiting), you will not be given a drink for about 1-2 hours after the procedure, but only allowed to rinse your mouth until the nurse sees that you have recovered sufficiently. If you are very thirsty, you can ask the nursing staff or doctor for more fluids through your IV. When you have recovered sufficiently, you will be taken to your room, where your partner/friend can wait for you. There may be drains behind the ears which will be removed the next day, during your check-up.

The doctor’s PA is also available to you 24 hours a day by phone and email to contact her with your concerns. You will be given a Belgian prescription for a pain killer and antibiotics.

    Your Stay

Based on your kind of surgery and distance from home we will inform you up front if after the surgery you can go back home (providing you are accompanied) or how many days to stay at the Guesthouse situated above the 2Pass/o2 clinic.

Your accommodation at the 2Pass clinic: https://o2.clinic/en/about-us/our-guesthouse.

On the day of the operation you will have to spend the night in the Guesthouse of the 2Pass/o2 clinic. The prices are:

    • Standard room: €180/night
    • Room with private shower: €200/night
    • Double room with private bathroom: €240/night (for 2 persons, not per person)

The price includes drinks and food (lunch, snacks and dinner) a professional cooling mask and someone present 24/7 for aftercare.

In case of an emergency you can be seen by one of the doctors.

    Your Recovery

The recovery period is variable, dependent upon different factors. Some people heal quicker. Different procedures swell differently. We will communicate to you realistic expectations of your recovery period. And we use state of the art medications both before, during, and after surgery and provide a professional cooling mask in order to reduce swelling and bruising.

Your post-operative consultation will be in the period you're at the Guesthouse and approximately 2 months after surgery.
